Daniel Castillo

Welcome to my classroom! I am entering my 10th year at Annunciation Catholic School and my 12th year serving in the Archdiocese of Santa Fe Catholic Schools. I am excited to return to where my journey at ACS began, teaching 5th grade. I look forward to helping students develop a love of learning through mathematics, literature, English-Language Arts, U.S. History, science, and writing. I am also excited to guide our 8th grade students on a historical journey as we explore the lives and contributions of influential figures throughout history.

I was born and raised in sunny California, where I enjoyed spending time at amusement parks and the beach. I earned an Associate of Arts degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences with an emphasis in Multicultural Education from Antelope Valley College, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from California State University, Northridge, and a Master of Arts degree in Elementary Education, along with my teaching credential, from Loyola Marymount University.
My educational background focuses on educating the whole child through elementary and multicultural education. I hold a K-8 teaching license and have also earned a 6-12 secondary teaching license in Social Studies. In May 2013, I received a Certificate of Recognition from California State Senator Alex Padilla. In 2021, I was honored to receive the Catholic Awards for Teachers from The Catholic Foundation.

Outside the classroom, I enjoy staying active at the gym, retail shopping, exploring new restaurants, spending time with friends, and discovering all that New Mexico has to offer. There are still many places across the state that I hope to visit, and I look forward to continuing my adventures throughout the Land of Enchantment.

I am excited for another wonderful school year and look forward to partnering with students and families to make it a successful and rewarding experience.
