Michael Griego

Mr. Griego earned his bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, with a minor in Psychology, from Adams State College in beautiful Alamosa, Colorado. He began his teaching career by spending six years as a 5th grade teacher in Alamosa's public schools. Mr. Griego has taught at Annunciation for 22 years, he has taught 4th grade, 5th grade, and multi-age classrooms. Today, he teaches 6th and 7th grade Social Studies as well as 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Science.

One of the greatest rewards of teaching for Mr. Griego is the lasting relationships he builds with his students. Whether welcoming former students back to Annunciation or running into them around the community, he enjoys hearing about their accomplishments and the paths their lives have taken. Seeing them grow into confident, kind, and compassionate adults reminds him how grateful he is to have played a small part in their educational journey and that the impact of a great education extends far beyond the classroom.
